Miroslav Klose has become Germany’s leading goalscorer of all-time, but the striker has insisted he just wants to focus on the World Cup.
The Lazio forward netted his 69th goal for Die Mannschaft on Friday in a 6-1 win against Armenia.
But despite topping Gerd Muller, the veteran has claimed that fitness for the tournament in Brazil is his main worry.
“Of course the record means something to me," he told ZDF after the game.
“But it is much more important for me to become fit again.
“I didn't have the legs for the last friendly [against Cameroon]. Now they are coming back and it shows, I guess.”
