Jose Mourinho believes anything is possible for Italy at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Cesare Prandelli’s Azzurri take their place in a difficult Group D alongside Uruguay, England and Costa Rica.
However, speaking in an interview with Eurosport Italia, the former Inter boss believes Italy would have many important factors on their side should they reach the knockout stages of the competition.
“Italy can do everything,” Mourinho said. “They have a very difficult group in which good teams are guaranteed to go out of the World Cup – but Italy are Italy.
“They have the players, the talent, the experience and the know-how in those important moments and I think Italy can do everything.
“If they get through the group, Italy are very well suited to straight knockout ties. Tradition and confidence are important too.
“I think that Italy can do very well.”
