Torino have confirmed that they have signed defender Cesare Bovo to a new two-year contract, tying him down until June 2016.

The 31-year-old signed for the Turin club from Genoa last summer as replacement for Juventus-bound Angelo Ogbonna and impressed during the 2013-14, playing a key part in the side’s eventual seventh place finish.

Toro have confirmed in a brief statement that they have rewarded the centre-back with a new contract, extending his current deal by a year to June 2016.

“Torino are pleased to announce that they have renewed the contract of player Cesare Bovo until June 30, 2016,” the club’s posting on their official website reads today.
