Rumours have circulated in the German Press that the 21-year-old was not pleased with the amount of appearances he made last term, and was angling for a move away.

Inter are reportedly extremely interested in signing the Switzerland international, but the player has insisted that he wants to stay with Lucien Favre’s men.

“I’m unhappy? That is absolutely not true,” he told reporters. “These are just things the Press say.

“I played 28 times in 34 games last season – I don’t know what more you want?

“Obviously I’d like to play all the time, but these are just the choices that the Coach makes.”
