The 31-year-old right back has been strongly linked with a move to San Siro over recent months, though it now appears highly unlikely he will be joining Walter Mazzarri’s team.
“It is no longer a secret. I am leaving Arsenal, it is a certainty,” Sagna told L’Equipe. “Arsenal made an effort to keep me but the discussions did not go in the direction I wanted.
“It was an honour to grow in the shirt. Arsenal gave me a lot, both as a player and as a person.
“There is a lot of speculation going around. It is giving me headaches! I will resolve everything before the start of the World Cup.”
Manchester City are now thought to be the favourites to sign the player.
