Cristian Brocchi believes former teammate Pippo Inzaghi is ready to make the step up to coaching the Milan first team.

The ex-Rossoneri forward has been in charge of the club’s Primavera side since 2012 but is now set to take the top job, replacing Dutchman Clarence Seedorf.

Brocchi himself has been lined up to replace Inzaghi at the helm of the youth team and, speaking to Tuttomercato.web, he praised the 40-year-old’s knowledge of football and attention to detail.

“Yes, Pippo is ready for the jump up to the first team,” Brocchi said. “After two seasons he knows what it means to be a Coach rather than just being a player, even though he has only been working with youngsters.

“Inzaghi has great knowledge of football and he dedicates an unbelievable amount of attention to the fine details. He really could do well.

“He is a man of the club, so I don’t think there will be any risk of him having a misunderstanding with the directors.

“Because of this and because of his qualities I am certain that he will have no problems.”
