And the Frenchman has praised both teams, whilst also looking ahead to next year’s tournament.

“They are two very different teams,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“One has the best players with the biggest personalities, whilst the other is more of a team that has a lot of togetherness.

“[Coaches Carlo] Ancelotti and [Diego] Simeone have done great jobs with the players that they have.

“These are two teams that have not reached the final since I’ve been in office, so maybe next year the final will be all-Italian!”
