Heavy rain in Manaus – where Italy will play England this summer – has reportedly brought down part of the roof at the city’s airport.

The Amazonas capital’s Arena Amazonia [pictured] will host Group D’s opening fixture between the Azzurri and Roy Hodgson’s men on June 14, but the city is apparently the latest to have been hit with preparation issues.

On from delayed completion on a handful of Brazil's stadiums due to host this summer’s tournament, including collapsed stands having led to fatalities, reports in the Brazilian media today are that Manaus’ airport has suffered a setback.

Heavy rain in the area is believed to have resulted in flooding at the newly opened international terminal, ‘Eduardo Gomes’, and resulted in a partial collapse of the roof above the arrivals area.
