Rudi Garcia’s Roma staff criticised fans for their lack of enthusiasm in the final home game with Juventus.

In their last Press conference of the season, Garcia handed over the spotlight to assistants Claude Fichaux, Frederic Bompard and goalkeeping coach Guido Nanni.

“Garcia is a loyal and grateful person, confirming that by asking me to work with him at Roma,” said Fichaux.

“A team with 85 points would win the title 10 out of 15 times. We hope that next year this duel with Juve can repeat itself, but with Roma out in front.

“We all hope to be here for a long time. Garcia said so last week too.”

The two teams did eventually face off at the Stadio Olimpico, but only after Juventus had already secured the Scudetto.

Bompard confessed he was surprised by the lack of enthusiasm from supporters, including some who stayed silent in protest.

“I was very disappointed, as for the whole season the crowd was our 12th man on the field. On Sunday they should’ve celebrated with the lads, as the players deserved that. I respect the right to protest, but that was not the best moment.”

His colleague Fichaux added “for the first half it was so quiet that it felt like being in church, but then after a while the Tribuna and Distinti areas started chanting and tried to take the matter in hand.”

Garcia opted to bring along many youth team players for some valuable Serie A experience.
