It is suggested in the Italian Press this afternoon that Inter will retire the No.4 shirt at the end of this season.
Javier Zanetti played his last game at San Siro on Saturday, as the Nerazzurri overcame Lazio 4-1 to secure European qualification.
And Corriere dello Sport claim that the club will make that number unavailable to other squad members as a sign of respect to the Argentine.
The 40-year-old spent 19 seasons with the Beneamata, playing over 700 games.
Inter currently only have the No.3 shirt retired, in honour of Giacinto Facchetti.
