The kick-off time for the Serie A match between Roma and Juventus has been moved forward by three hours, it has been announced.

The encounter at Stadio Olimpico between Italy’s top two placed teams had been scheduled to start at 20.45 CET on Sunday, but will instead now begin at 17.45 CET.

The decision was taken after Roma magistrate Giuseppe Pecoraro consulted with the Lega Calcio and the police, with the violence at last weekend’s Coppa Italia final played at the same venue in mind.

“When you need to make a decision to change something that has already been arranged it is obviously never a good thing,” CONI President Giovanni Malago told reporters.

“But it is also clear that the decision has been taken to avoid having another problem rather letting it occur.”
