Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has thanked Coach Giuseppe Iachini after they gained promotion to Serie A.
The Sicilian side confirmed their place back at the top table of Italian football at the weekend, and the team’s owner has revealed his admiration for the tactician.
“We are delighted with the work done by Iachini,” he told Radio Rai.
“He’s done really well with a group that has brought us back to the top League. There is definitely less stress in Serie B – it is a League where you can have fun.
“Iachini is a humble man, unlike the majority of Coaches who think they have invented everything themselves.
“The players also seem to love playing for him, so we’ll lengthen his contract for another two years.
“The economic situation in Italy is disastrous, making buying players very difficult. The banks do not give many guarantees, and that makes it tough.
“But over the next few days we’ll sit down and discuss the market, and then we’ll go from there.”
