The Nerazzurri look set to secure a Europa League place for next season and the Indonesian said the former Napoli boss’ contract must be respected.

In quotes released on FcInterNews.it, Thohir also discussed his summer transfer plans and said he was happy with the spine of the team.

“We are happy with Walter Mazzarri,” he said. “He is solid in the job. We need to give him another year and respect his contract.

“The players? Now in defence we have players like Nagatomo, Juan Jesus and Vidic, so we are well set there.

“In midfield we have people like Hernanes and Kovacic and up front we have Palacio and Icardi, so I think we are already well placed.

“But we know we need to add players if we want to be competitive in the League and Champions League.

“The problem with football is the fact that so many teams change players and manager. Great teams like Barcelona and Ajax stay the same for at least two or three years before making their evaluations.

“We have no plans regarding Dzeko, Morata and Torres, but it would be good if at least one of them came to Inter.”
