Seedorf: Roma a step ahead

Clarence Seedorf has tempered Milan expectation heading into their clash with Roma: “The difference between them and us is great.”

The Rossoneri head into Friday evening’s Week 35 fixture in their best form of the season but with their Coach in full respect of their Giallorosso hosts, on an eight-game winning run.

“The team is doing well, we will be ready for a big team in a big game,” Seedorf has explained in his pre-Press conference talk with Milan Channel.

“We anticipate a game between two teams in a good moment. We know that we have to play at our best in order to compete and bring home the maximum points.

“This is a Roma that has grown a lot in two phases - they are dangerous when they have the ball, but they have also demonstrated great compactness.

“They are a complete team, they have conceded the fewest goals of anyone. They are a team that has a very important defence, this will be a game where we will need great care.

“We need to be like we were against Juventus and Atletico, we will need that kind of attention. Roma have something extra, just look at the standings.

“Garcia has a team that can become even stronger. The difference between them and us is great, we cannot judge Milan at the same level as them.

“We are improving, but we still have everything to prove. I have seen an overall growth in the team, in both phases of play.

“We will try to grow further. This is an opportunioty to show that the team has grown and that can find its balance even against Roma.

Confirming that both Keisuke Honda and Michael Essien will be available, the Dutchman commented on Ricky Kaka, who turned 32 this week.

“After all this time I know him well, I have seen an evolution in his physical state - he had some issues to solve.

“Now he has found great balance, these issues came with him from Madrid, where he suffered a lot.

“I too have suffered with him. He has a great balance between the psychological and the physical.”
