Fiorentina’s Ryder Matos has thanked Coach Vincenzo Montella for the faith he has shown in him.

The 21-year-old Brazilian has broken into the Viola first team picture this season but has yet to score a goal in his 21 first team appearances.

“I would give myself 6.5 out of 10 for the season,” Matos said to Radio Fiesole. “I hope to continue that way.

“I’m still missing a goal, I will look to get it as soon as possible.

“Montella has shown faith in me and given me confidence and I need to thank him.

“I hope that Rossi and Gomez are back for the Coppa Italia final against Napoli. We will give 100 per cent to bring it home.

“I have bonded well with everyone, but especially Borja Valero, Aquilani, Gonzalo Rodriguez and Cuadrado.”
