The father of Siena goalkeeper Eugenio Lamanna has been banned from stadiums after punching a fan.
The bizarre incident occurred in the stands at the end of Thursday’s Serie B game, which saw Spezia beat Siena 1-0.
Lamanna’s parents were cheering on their son, but a Spezia supporter – named as Alessandro Botti – started to criticise the 24-year-old goalkeeper’s performance.
This irritated his mother and infuriated the father, who after a brief argument punched Botti in the face.
Cosma Lamanna has been given a Daspo – the Italian version of an ASBO – banning him from attending any sporting event.
