Sampdoria assistant manager Nenad Sakic said Mauro Icardi was “disrespectful” and admits Maxi Lopez wasn’t the penalty taker.

Inter’s 4-0 victory at Marassi was like a soap opera today, as Maxi Lopez refused to shake hands with his former friend Icardi, who moved in with ex-wife Wanda Nara.

Icardi was jeered throughout the game by the crowd and when he scored celebrated by provoking the crowd, urging them to insult him more.

“Maxi Lopez has always been calm and prepared the game well,” said Sakic in a Press conference, standing in for the suspended Sinisa Mihajlovic.

“I did not like Icardi’s behaviour after the goal. He was disrespectful towards the club and the fans, so this gesture speaks for itself. I am very angry and it’s a shame these things happen. This club and the supporters deserve more respect.

Maxi Lopez’s day got even worse when he had a penalty saved by Samir Handanovic, especially as Sakic confirmed it wasn’t his spot-kick.

“Eder was designated to take the penalty, but Maxi asked to take it and Eder agreed. It was the wrong course of action, even if Maxi had converted it.

“Handanovic performed three or four incredible saves and was Man of the Match. We played our game and Inter scored with their first shot on goal, but that is football.”
