Miralem Pjanic has admitted that some rumours linking him away from Roma ‘are true’, but that his focus is not on the market just yet.

The playmaker has been continually reported as in talks with the Giallorossi over extending his current contract at the club, which expires in June 2015.

However, speculation has also continued to link him with a summer switch away, with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Barcelona amongst those seen as interested.

“I am used to these rumours, and I have to admit that there is some truth to some of these,” Pjanic has this week conceded to Sport.ba.

“Anyway, as I have always said, I am a Roma player and I still have one year on my contract. At the moment I cannot say with certainty what will happen, that’s football.

“But to be honest, currently I am not thinking a lot about it, because Roma have some important goals this season.

“I want to think about this, and of course the World Cup. There will be time to think about contracts and transfers later.

“The title race? Unfortunately, the League does not depend only on us. The merit is Juve’s, who have an eight point advantage. We can only hope that they suffer a few shocks.

“After two difficult seasons, we can return [to the Champions League. We are very close as a group. We are playing well, we have given continuity to our game, particularly in view of the next Champions League.”

Pjanic will be at the World Cup with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“We have a good group [against Argentina, Iran and Nigeria]. Obviously Argentina are the favourites, but no team is unbeatable.

“I am convinced that we can play on a par with all of them. Our goal was to qualify for the World up, but we do not want to leave already defeated.

“We believe we can progress from the group. Never say never.”
