The right-back will turn 41 in August and recovered from a torn Achilles tendon to resume his career, but has barely featured this season.
“I train as best I can. I know what my role is and try to give a positive response every time I am called into action,” Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia.
“At the end of the season we’ll see what my future holds and what the club wants.”
It is practically certain the captain will remain at Inter in a directorial role, similar to Ivan Cordoba’s position as team manager.
“President Erick Thohir spoke to us calmly, letting us understand the objectives and that the Europa League is very important for the club’s future.”
