Reports in Spain are that Napoli have identified Real Madrid’s Diego Lopez as possible transfer target for the summer.

The 32-year-old has successfully kept Iker Casillas at bay in the Madrid goal for the past 14 months, since returning the capital club from Sevilla in January 2013.

However, with Casillas remaining in the background, the ‘keeper continues to be linked with an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu, and today Mundo Deportivo say that Napoli are a credible option.

It is believed that the Vesuviani are looking at Lopez as a possible replacement for Pepe Reina, who is set to return to Liverpool at the end of his season-long loan at the San Paolo.

The report is that Napoli and Madrid would be able to reach a deal for Lopez for around €10m, to represent a €3m profit for Los Blancos.

Milan have otherwise also been linked with the goalkeeper, whilst Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has today commented on the prospect of keeping Pepe Reina.
