Atalanta and Cagliari are leading the race to sign Serie B top scorer Matteo Mancosu, who has 19 goals for Trapani.
The 29-year-old is the main thrust behind little Trapani’s surprise push towards promotion, as the club is currently in third place.
Mancosu was born in Cagliari and started his career in a series of local Sardinian clubs before moving on to Latina, Vigor Lamezia and Trapani in July 2012.
He netted 15 goals in 29 Lega Pro games for Trapani last season and is already on 19 in 30 appearances in Serie B.
It’s reported Mancosu is being tracked by two Serie A sides, including his hometown club Cagliari, where he’d form a partnership with fellow Sardinian Marco Sau.
The other option is Atalanta, who are currently pushing for European qualification after five consecutive victories.
