Davide Ballardini’s future at Bologna is once more up for discussion, with Stefano Pioli in pole position to return to the bench.
Ballardini was brought in to replace Pioli in January, but has been speculated as under pressure ever since for struggling to turn around the club’s fortunes.
Whilst a 1-0 win over Cagliari at the weekend appeared to have eased pressure, last night’s 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals Chievo reportedly has the 50-year-old once more under scrutiny.
Reports in Italy are that the club are today seriously considering a change on the bench and that Pioli would be the one to come in as replacement.
