Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle thanked Vincenzo Montella and the players after their Europa League exit.
The Viola had been unbeaten in the tournament until Thursday’s 1-0 home defeat to Juventus sent them out 2-1 on aggregate.
“I compliment the Coach and the players, as the first half could so easily have ended 2-0 for us,” President Della Valle told journalists.
“I really believed we could qualify, especially after the first leg. We were penalised by yet another injury, this time to David Pizarro.
“I am proud of what we achieved and we should carry on from here.”
Fiorentina are in the Coppa Italia Final against Napoli in May and will face the Partenopei in a head-to-head for third place in Serie A this weekend.
“This team was constructed in September to achieve great objectives. We deserved to go through and I thank the players and Coach for their efforts.
“As for Juventus, I was happy to talk to Andrea Agnelli. We are enemies on the field, but not off it.”
