Porto Coach Luis Castro maintains his team was “superior to Napoli over 180 minutes” in the Europa League.
The tactician was only drafted in a couple of weeks ago after Paulo Fonseca was fired and has taken them into the quarter-finals.
“We knew that we’d be going into a very tough game tonight,” Castro told O Jogo after a 2-2 draw sent Porto through 3-2 on aggregate.
“At the start both teams had chances, but I think my team was superior to Napoli over 180 minutes.
“We did well not to let our heads drop after their goal and we climbed back up that mountain with quality and good football.
“Can we win the Europa League? What I can promise is hard work, then we’ll see.”
