Insigne: 'Napoli had chances'

Lorenzo Insigne concedes Napoli “ought to be more determined in front of goal” after a Europa League exit to Porto.

Tonight’s 2-2 result at the San Paolo ends their continental campaign 3-2 on aggregate.

“It’s always painful to go out of a European competition,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We were unlucky in the Champions League to go out with 12 points and again tonight, as we had so many chances to go 2-0 up.

“We ought to be more determined in front of goal and convert more of our opportunities. Losing 1-0 in the first leg gave Porto a valuable advantage and if we’d played the way we did tonight then it wouldn’t have ended like that.

“We thank the fans for applauding us to the end. Now we have to focus on Serie A and the Coppa Italia Final.”
