Cagliari forward Mauricio Pinilla has spoken of his dream of playing for his native Chile at this summer’s World Cup.
The 30-year-old missed a penalty in the Rossoblu’s defeat to Lazio yesterday but believes he is going through one of the best periods of his career.
“You have to give credit to Sampaoli for having put together this group who have reached the World Cup,” Pinilla said to El Mercurio.
“He is very good, he leaves nothing to chance and he always analyses every match in great detail.
“My current time in Serie A is one of the best moments in my career.
“The World Cup would be a dream for me to be able to represent my country in a competition like this.
“Because of this I will do my utmost until the Coach announces the squad.”
