“One always wants to play, it was a technical choice for me to not go,” the Colombian winger has reflected to reporters this week.

“And I took it with respect. Here was an opportunity and I provided my contribution. I have to train to play and I will give my all to be there on Thursday against Juve.

“It was very important to win here [on Sunday evening], the teams are all in there for the fight for Europa League qualification.

“Certainly we felt tired, in front of us we had a great team in Chievo who put us in difficulty.”
