Maxi Lopez admits it has been tough seeing his wife move in with ex-teammate Mauro Icardi, but “one day maybe we’ll laugh about it.”
The Sampdoria striker is going through a very public divorce with wife Wanda Nara, a TV star and model in Argentina, after she left him for Inter striker Icardi.
The pair moved in together in Milan and over the weekend announced via Twitter that they are engaged to be married this summer.
“I left Catania so that I could stay closer to my children, who now live in Milan,” Maxi Lopez told Argentine media TyC.
“It has been a very difficult time in my life and I cried a lot, but it all passed thanks to football. It was not a normal break-up, but at the end of the day nobody died.
“All I want now is to spend time with my children. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll face Icardi on the field and we’ll have a good laugh about it.”
