Reports are that Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli is ready to include Parma forward Antonio Cassano in his plans for the World Cup.

The CT has not featured the 31-year-old in his plans with the national team since the 2012 European Championships, but outlets such as La Repubblica and Sky Sport Italia today suggest he may be reconsidering the No 10.

Speculation is that in seeing Italy struggle for creativity in their defeat to Spain last week, and during recent games prior, Prandelli has determined that the former Roma and Real Madrid star may be a viable option to take out to Brazil.

However, it is understood that such a conversation with the troublesome character has come only after extensive talks between Prandelli and Cassano, and then between the tactician and some of Italy’s more senior squad members, such as Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo.

Indications are that all parties are in agreement over the player’s potential return and that Prandelli will hold a decisive conversation with him in the coming days, before then looking to include him in future plans with an eye on Brazil.
