Cesare Prandelli has called 31 players for a pre-World Cup training camp, almost all of them debutants, including Simone Scuffet.
The Coach will have the group together in Rome from Monday March 10 to the morning of Wednesday March 12.
They’ll have the opportunity to train and work on tactics to see if they can impress the Azzurri staff for a future call-up.
Many of them are Italy Under-21 internationals, such as Livorno goalkeeper Francesco Bardi, Roma full-back Alessio Romagnoli and Latina midfielder Federico Viviani.
Others, like Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini, Cagliari’s Marco Sau and Atalanta star Giacomo Bonaventura, have been hovering on the fringes of the senior Italy side.
Among the new faces is Udinese goalkeeper Scuffet, the 17-year-old local lad who shot to fame after being given his Serie A debut last month.
