Inter President Erick Thohir met with “partner” Massimo Moratti today and again warned “the process takes time.”

The Nerazzurri hit the brakes again on Sunday with a 1-1 home draw against Cagliari, which left them in fifth place with only a one-point advantage over Hellas Verona.

“We have been partners for months and I think it is important to discuss matters when we get the chance,” Thohir told FCInterNews.it when leaving Moratti’s office.

“So far the process is going well, but it takes time. We didn’t talk about anything specific. We’ve always had a great relationship with the family and the Moratti family are credible partners and excellent workers.”

Thohir is flying back to Indonesia, but was asked whether he’ll offer captain Javier Zanetti a new contract.

“I haven’t had time to meet with him. I had meetings with Nike, with our commercial partners and the banks… I am not saying that he is not important or that I don’t respect him.

“I will be back in the next few weeks to prepare for next season in business terms too.”

Finally, Thohir was asked what he thought of young midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who is struggling for playing time under Walter Mazzarri.

“He is a very good player, but has to improve and grow. We all want him to be an important element for the team in future.”
