Napoli Coach Rafa Benitez has cited rhythm and speed as the two fundamental attributes needed to beat Swansea.

The Azzurri are slight favourites going into the second leg of their Europa League tie with the Welsh side and the Spaniard has called for his team to play with intensity.

“Rhythm and speed will be the keys to winning tomorrow,” Benitez told the journalists gathered at his pre-match Press conference.

“Our target for the game is simple when it’s set out. We have to win to get to the next round.

“We will go out onto the pitch with our usual mentality of always trying to win.

“We must also play with lots of intensity because we have seen that the away leg was played at a very high tempo.

“I don’t think possession is all important tomorrow.

“It will be more important for us to combine our defensive and attacking phases of play well, so that we are well balanced.

“We must be able to create chances to score without risking being hit on the counter-attack.

“That is our idea, but it could also depend on individual incidents too.

“The game is not pivotal to our season, the season is long and we still have targets to achieve.

“We will just take everything game by game.”

Benitez was then asked to compare Serie A to the English Premier League.

“They are two different championships,” he replied.

“In England there is a higher tempo and in Italy it is more tactical.”
