Davide Ballardini was frustrated at Bologna’s defeat to Roma, especially as it was an avoidable one.

Radja Nainggolan netted in the first half for the 1-0 result, though Lazaros Christodoulopoulos missed a free header from six yards in stoppages.

“Cherubin let himself get drawn away by the player and didn’t defend the ball. We can’t concede a goal like that,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“In the first half too Bologna were very organised and perhaps we were more aggressive after the break, but overall it was a great performance.

“Beforehand a journalist said that for us to beat Roma would be like climbing Mount Everest and I replied we could do it by playing as a team, which is what we did tonight.

“It’s true we are struggling to finish off our chances recently, but the only way I know how to get those scoring opportunities is to play as a team, play with quality and maintain a high tempo.

“We hope Cristaldo, Bianchi, Acquafresca and Moscardelli can help us to get more goals in future.”
