Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has highlighted the importance of Rudi Garcia, admitting that the Coach brought something new to the team.

The Giallorossi have been in superb form this season, and currently sit second in the Serie A table, nine points behind Juventus with a game in hand.

“Since Rudi Garcia came here my game has been different to when I was at Lyon,” he told Goal France.

“I have matured and have more experience, but it is also true that our style suits me more now. Garcia’s teams rely heavily on the midfield, and he entrusts us to make the right decisions.

“I certainly have more responsibility now.

“I immediately understood why the Coach was signed when he arrived. Rudi spoke with the players straight away, and put trust in us immediately.

“The arrival of some experienced players calmed us down, and after a really good start, we got some genuine confidence.”

The Bosnia international then commented on his relationship with Francesco Totti.

“My relationship with the captain is really good. If you give the ball to him, you know that something good is going to happen.

“I’m delighted to be here. We have an ambitious manager, an ambitious squad and a club that wants to win trophies.”
