The full-back arrived in January from Torino, and has admitted that there was a negative air around the club when he joined.
“When I came here I found the team down in the dumps after a series of negative results,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“But now the daily work we’re putting in is really paying off – we’ve seen that with the last few victories.
“[Coach] Walter Mazzarri helps Nagatomo and I a lot. He’s always giving us tips on how to improve.”
D’Ambrosio then commented on his former side as they fight for a European place.
“Torino are having a great season. They’re led by a good Coach and have some great players in the squad.
“The aim at the start of the season was to avoid relegation, but soon they’ll be looking at a Europa League place.”
