The FIGC will put forward Rome as Italy’s entrant to host the pan-European 2020 European Championships.
The tournament will be played in 13 different countries, with nation’s deciding what cities they want to host the games.
And Calcio News report that the Italian Federation will go to UEFA posing the Stadio Olimpico as their stadium of choice.
It means a snub for Milan’s San Siro, but that pill will be sweetened by the expectation that the ground will host the 2016 Champions League Final.
2020 will see the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Stadio Olimpico.
