Corinthians have announced they could take Edenilson back on loan from Udinese in a complex affair.

Udinese signed the right-back from Corinthians in January for €3.5m, but cannot use him in Serie A this season because they’ve filled their quota of non-EU players.

He had been due to go on loan for six months to Bologna, but that move didn’t go through in time on transfer deadline day.

Udinese had planned to keep Edenilson at the Stadio Friuli until July, where he could train with the squad without playing, but he rejected that option.

Now Corinthians have released a statement confirming they are in advanced negotiations with Udinese to take the defender on loan until June, which would at least allow him some playing time.
