Genoa defender Giovanni Marchese was delighted with the way his side bounced back from the derby defeat.
The Grifone lost 1-0 to Sampdoria in the Derby della Lantern last week, but came back at the weekend, beating Livorno 1-0.
And the left-back has admitted that it was essential his men came back with three points.
“We have to be together as a group,” he told reporters. “And I think we showed that we are after the defeat on Monday.
“It was important to start well against Livorno, and we’re delighted that we managed to get the win.
“We achieved the goal we set at the start of the week, but now we have to stay humble and continue to fight to reach the 40 point mark.”
