Former Inter President Massimo Moratti has admitted that Marco Branca’s dismissal was ‘unexpected’.
The sporting director was given his marching orders last week by new owner Erick Thohir.
And his predecessor has conceded that the sacking was not on his radar.
“The decision wasn’t up to me,” he told reporters. “But there is definitely some regret because I worked with him for 10 years.
“It was totally unexpected, but I think the new ownership wants some new voices, which you have to respect.
“My tips for Thohir? He has to be around a lot more and has to rely only on those people who he has 100 per cent confidence in.”
