FC Sion are seen as interested in another Italian and, having worked with Gennaro Gattuso, are now linked Ciro Ferrara.
Sion hired Gattuso as player-manager last February, before sacking him after poor form two-and-a-half-months later.
The Swiss outfit, though, are apparently considering another Italian for their bench, with current Coach Laurent Roussey thought to be heading for the exit door himself in the coming hours.
The Gazzetta dello Sport understand that former Juventus, Italy Under-21 and Sampdoria Coach Ciro Ferrara is top of President Christian Constantin’s list.
It is believed that Constantin made a first enquiry as to Ferrara’s availability last week, but not directly to the 46-year-old’s entourage.
Even so and with Ferrara still under contract with Sampdoria, who removed him as Coach in December 2012, contact is expected in the coming hours between Sion and the tactician, to discuss the role and a possible offer.
