“I always tell the lads that the squad comes first of all. We have many games from now until May and the only way to get out of this situation is by focusing on the team, not the individuals,” he said in his Press conference.

“I had an excellent response from them against Catania, as I saw a side that was convinced and determined. Our self-belief will grow with each passing day.”
Livorno had been leading three times against Catania last Sunday, but the final result was 3-3 and left them second-from-bottom.

“Genoa will certainly be fired up and eager to get a result after they lost the Derby della Lanterna. They have some very good players and belong in the top end of mid-table.

“However, the message I gave my men is clear: respect yes, but we do not fear anyone.”

Livorno had been expected to give Inter-owned Ishak Belfodil his first start, though Di Carlo had a warning.

“Belfodil still needs to find his match fitness.”

Ibrahima Mbaye is suspended, while Luca Siligardi and Giuseppe Gemiti are sidelined.
