Milan’s Riccardo Saponara has praised new Coach Clarence Seedorf and says he wants to repay the faith shown in him by the Dutchman.

Seedorf has taken seven points from a possible nine since taking over at San Siro and the midfielder is convinced there is more to come from the Rossoneri.

“On Saturday against Torino we had a lot of the ball in their half of the pitch,” Saponara told the Milan Channel ahead of their clash this weekend with Napoli.

“We were very good at winning the ball high up the pitch.

“We are starting to play how the manager wants us to, we are a work in progress and I am sure we will continue to improve, especially in terms of results.

“I can really feel the faith that Seedorf has in the team, like I did with Allegri, and I will do my best to repay the faith he has put in me.”

The 22-year-old endured a frustrating start to the season but, having now returned from injury once more, he insists he is fully committed to his team’s cause.

“My season didn’t start as I hoped but wearing the Milan shirt has always been my dream,” he stated.

“I am getting physically stronger and I’m happy to be back.

“I’m ready to step in and help the team whenever the boss gives me the call.”

The Rossoneri face Napoli on Saturday and Saponara was confident of his team’s chances of getting a positive result.

“Napoli haven’t had good results recently but they are still a great team,” he said.

“But we’re going there to play a good game and to bring home three important points.

“We have all the quality needed to impose our game on Napoli.”
