And the 25-year-old has praised the ambition of Vincenzo Montella’s outfit.

“Fiorentina are a very ambitious team,” he told The Sun. “I am enjoying it here so far.

“My goal is to win things here like Edmundo and Batigol.

“From what I’ve seen so far, there are things to improve – but we can grow in Italy and Europe.

“I respect the decision made by [United manager David] Moyes, but now I am at Fiorentina and I’m concentrating on doing well here.”
