New Fiorentina loan signing Anderson has revealed his delight at moving to La Viola until the end of the season.

Speaking at the press conference to officially unveil his signing from Manchester United, the 25-year-old Brazilian told journalists the reason for his decision to head to Florence.

“Here in Florence there is a great project that convinced me to come,” Anderson has mused.

“I am here to do well, players like Batistuta and Edmundo have played here in the past and I want to be at the centre of the project and win things like I did in Manchester.

“I’m pleased to be a part of Fiorentina, a club that is fighting to be one of the top teams in Europe.”

The former Sporting Lisbon man also spoke of the contribution he hopes to make to his new side and his desire to remain in Florence on a permanent basis.

“I’m here to convince people and to stay for the long term,” he commented.

“My favourite position? I’ll even play in goal if they ask me, I’ll do whatever [Vincenzo] Montella wants.

“I like playing in midfield but it doesn’t matter where.

“I like Montella, he has immediately put faith in me and I want to repay him on the pitch.”

Anderson was asked during his presentation of a recent story that has alleged he is gay.

“It is the first time I have heard this story,” laughed the player in response.

“I have much respect for gay people, I have absolutely nothing against them, but I like women, I have four children in my house, and no TV!”
