Riccardo Montolivo believes that ‘a new era’ has started at Milan with Clarence Seedorf at the helm.

The Dutchman has been in charge for less than two weeks at San Siro, but the current Italy international has insisted that a new chapter at the club has begun.

“We have had some problems in the League,” he told reporters. “But we’ve had a good time in the Champions League this season.

“Now we’re ready to play the second round match with Atletico Madrid and we want to do well.

“With Seedorf we have begun a new era at the club. Hopefully everything will go well.

“I think we have a good team, but Clarence’s impact has been great.”

The midfielder then commented on the news that Giuseppe Rossi will not require surgery following a knee injury.

“I’m sorry that Giuseppe got hurt. Hopefully he will return soon because he is important for the national team.”
