Rossi was in Colorado today for another check-up with Professor Steadman, as there were fears he had damaged the anterior cruciate ligament as well as a lesion to the collateral medial ligament.
“Hurray, Giuseppe Rossi doesn’t need surgery!” wrote agent Federico Pastorello.
The anterior cruciate ligament – which snapped twice and kept him out for two years – is not severely affected. Fiorentina released a statement confirming he will continue rehabilitation "for two months."
This makes it likely Rossi will be fit in time to play for Italy at the 2014 World Cup.
