Galatasaray President Unal Aysal confirms they are “in negotiations” with Inter for Andrea Ranocchia.

The centre-back is believed to be making the move to Turkey on a six-month loan for €1.5m.

“Today our manager Roberto Mancini asked us for a new name in defence, Andrea Ranocchia,” the President told journalists.

“We are in negotiations with Inter and the player. We’re trying to reach an agreement and it would be strange if we didn’t find it at the end of the day.”

Ranocchia does not fit well into Walter Mazzarri’s three-man defence and has made only 14 Serie A appearances this season.

He wants more playing time to avoid missing out on Italy’s World Cup campaign and turns 26 next month.

The former Bari man has been at Inter since January 2011.
