Massimo Cellino is reportedly in talks with Qatar Sport Investments over a proposed takeover of Cagliari worth €70-80m.
The Miami-based businessman has increasingly hinted at his discontent with life running the Isolani, whilst he is also seen as in continuing negotiations for a takeover of English Championship outfit Leeds United.
Put together, attention has grown on what this means for Cagliari’s future and today L’Unione Sarda are running the line that talks are underway between Cellino and Qatar Sport Investments over a proposed takeover.
In today’s edition of the Sardinian outlet, it is reported that negotiations are ongoing for a buyout of a majority of Cellino’s shares at a price set between €70m and 80m.
It is seen that the next 48 hours are crucial to the outcome of these talks, whilst it is understood that Cellino is looking to still keep hold of a minority share and remain on as President.
