President Massimo Moratti backed Inter supporters for their protests that ended the Fredy Guarin-Mirko Vucinic deal.

The Honorary President and former patron spoke to journalists and around 200 fans who are outside the club HQ protesting the chaotic transfer between Guarin and Juventus” data-scaytid=”8″>Juventus striker Vucinic, which was abandoned this evening.

“The President will talk about the negotiations, but as for the protest from the fans I think it was all resolved in a civilised manner,” said Moratti.

“The negotiations are over, just as Thohir said. The protest was just the fans wanting answers from those who are in charge.”

President Erick Thohir released an additional statement this evening explaining the transfer was abandoned because “the opinions of the two parties differed and which did not offer a clear financial or technical benefit to the club.”

Some have pointed out that the two Inter statements name Moratti and his son Angelomario – a member of the Board of Directors – but only referred to “our sporting directors” rather than naming technical director Marco Branca and director general Marco Fassone.

The trio are the subject of the protest from the Curva Nord ultras, who have a banner demanding the ‘rotten apples’ are removed from the club.

There are reports four of the protesting ultras were invited up into the HQ for a discussion with the directors as representatives of the fan movement.
