Why was Moyes at Cagliari-Juve?

Manchester United manager David Moyes attended Cagliari-Juventus today, though there are different reports on who he was scouting.

The tactician was spotted at the Stadio Sant’Elia in Sardinia to watch Juventus win their Serie A tie 4-1.

It is not entirely clear who or how many players he was there to keep an eye on, but there are some prime candidates.

The first is Cagliari and Italy defender Davide Astori, who has been put on the market for the right price in January.

He is also of interest to Southampton, Milan and Fiorentina, though an overseas move is most likely.

Another option is Juventus midfielder Marchisio, who has been repeatedly linked with Manchester United in recent years.

He certainly made his mark, scoring with a long-range shot after coming off the bench to replace Andrea Pirlo.

There are rumours potential other Moyes targets include Cagliari’s very fast Colombian striker Victor Ibarbo and Juve star Arturo Vidal.
